About the Role

The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) is recruiting a Communications Consultant for its Sustainable Finance Programme. The consultant will work remotely to design and implement strategic communications efforts aimed at enhancing the visibility and outreach of UN Women’s initiatives related to gender-responsive finance.

Duration

  • Contract Term: 1 November 2025 – 29 May 2026
  • Full-time engagement

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic communications plan for the Sustainable Finance Programme.
  • Create digital and print materials such as brochures, briefs, infographics, campaign content, and multimedia assets.
  • Support communications for conferences, roundtables, and workshops.
  • Produce final deliverables including a Programme Results Report, Achievements Brochure, Impact Video, and five online knowledge briefs/articles.

Phased Deliverables and Payment Schedule

  • Phase I (by 31 January 2026): Inception Report and communications workplan (30% payment).
  • Phase II (by 30 April 2026): Draft materials and deliverables (40% payment).
  • Phase III (by 30 May 2026): Final communications package and dissemination (30% payment).

Qualifications Required

  • Master’s in communications, economics, development studies, or a relevant field (Bachelor’s accepted with two additional years of experience).
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in strategic communications and content production, preferably with international organizations.
  • Proven work in sustainable financegender equality, or development policy.
  • Experience with the UN or similar multilateral institutions preferred.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of another UN language (French, Spanish, etc.) is an advantage.

Work Arrangements

  • Fully remote consultancy; engagement with the UN Women Sustainable Finance team through regular virtual meetings.
  • Reports to the Sustainable Finance Specialist and Analyst under the Head of Sustainable Finance.
