About the Organisation

The Centre for Social Justice (CSJ), established in 1993, works toward social transformation through law by addressing grassroots issues that traditional legal systems often neglect. CSJ focuses on understanding social realities, removing barriers to justice, and empowering marginalized communities. It combines field engagement, legal education, and advocacy to create systemic change.

About the Internship (Nyaya Darshan)

Nyaya Darshan is a four-week residential legal training programme by CSJ designed to strengthen core legal skills and build self-awareness among first- and second-year law students. It emphasizes the development of research, critical thinking, and community engagement through practical exercises.

Eligibility

  • Open to students enrolled in the 1st or 2nd year of law school.
  • Students from vulnerable backgrounds (religion, gender, caste, economic status, or sexual orientation) and/or those dependent on scholarships are given preference.

Nature of Internship
Interns will engage in activities that combine academic rigor with field exposure, including:

  • Reading and writing assignments
  • Presentations and interactive sessions
  • Field visits and case compilations
  • Maintaining personal learning logs
  • Expert interactions and reflective activities

Upon successful completion, participants receive:

  • A certificate of internship
  • A certificate for the course on Legal Aid and Paralegal Training Programme

  • Number of Interns: 20–25

Stipend and Benefits

  • No stipend provided.
  • However, food, accommodation, and travel expenses are fully covered by the organization.
