


UNESCO Internship Programme 2025: Global Opportunity for Graduate Students [Apply by December 31, 2025]
About the Programme
UNESCO’s 2025 Internship Programme offers hands-on experience to graduate students, allowing them to contribute to UNESCO’s mission in education, science, and culture while developing professional skills through meaningful projects across multiple divisions including the Education Sector, Culture Sector, Natural Sciences, Governing Bodies Secretariat, and more.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be at least 20 years old.
- Currently enrolled in a graduate programme (Master’s, PhD, or equivalent), or have graduated within the last 12 months.
- Bachelor’s degree holders who are not pursuing further graduate studies are not eligible.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English or French is mandatory; working knowledge of the other language is an asset, especially for roles at UNESCO Headquarters.
- Strong computer skills, communication abilities, and ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, international environment are required.
Internship Structure
- Duration: Minimum 1 month to maximum 6 months.
- Interns work 35–40 hours/week on a variety of assignments such as research, event organization, communications, technical support, and data analysis.
- Internship is unpaid. Interns are responsible for their own travel, visa, and living costs.
- Interns are entitled to 2.5 days leave per month.
- Applications remain active in UNESCO’s portal for six months; only selected candidates will be contacted by hiring managers.

- Prepare motivation letter and updated CV (in English or French).
- Apply through UNESCO’s official internship portal by December 31, 2025.
- Successful applicants will be contacted within six months of submission.
