About NITI Aayog

NITI Aayog serves as India’s apex public policy think tank and nodal agency for economic development and cooperative federalism. Chaired by the Prime Minister, it includes Vice Chairperson Suman Bery and ex-officio members from the Union Cabinet.

About the Internship

The NITI Aayog Internship Scheme offers short-term exposure to selected students/research scholars working with NITI’s verticals/divisions/cells. Interns contribute policy inputs through empirical analysis, briefing reports, and policy papers while understanding government functioning.

Eligibility Criteria

• Undergraduate students: Completed 2nd year/4th semester with ≥85% in 12th class
• Graduate students: Completed 1st year/2nd semester of PG or pursuing PhD with ≥70% in graduation
• Recent graduates/PG awaiting higher studies admission with ≥70% cumulative marks (within 6 months of results)

Internship Details

• Duration: Minimum 6 weeks, maximum 6 months (incomplete tenure = no certificate)
• Mode: On-site (New Delhi)
• Purpose: Policy exposure and contribution to developmental policy formulation

• Apply online through NITI Aayog registration form (1st-10th of each month for next month)
• Deadline: 10 January 2026

Important Notes

Interns must carry their own laptops. Open to students from recognized institutions in India/abroad across all disciplines including law.
