About NITI Aayog Internship

Undergraduate/postgraduate students and research scholars from recognized universities in India/abroad can apply for NITI Aayog’s Internship Scheme. Selected interns work with NITI’s verticals/divisions/cells on policy formulation, research, and analysis.

Purpose & Objective

  • Purpose: Short‑term exposure to NITI Aayog’s Verticals/Divisions/Units.
  • Objective: Associate young academic talent with NITI’s work; interns contribute policy inputs (empirical analysis, briefing reports, policy papers) while learning about government functioning and developmental policy.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Undergraduate: Completed/appearing in 2nd year/4th semester of bachelor’s degree; ≥85% or equivalent in 12th class.
  • Postgraduate/Research: Completed/appearing in 1st year/2nd semester of PG or pursuing PhD; ≥70% or equivalent in graduation.
  • Recent Graduates: Final year completers waiting for higher studies admission eligible if ≥70% cumulative marks and application within 6 months of result declaration.

Duration, Mode & Location

  • Duration: Minimum 6 weeks, maximum 6 months (incomplete periods yield no certificate).
  • Mode: On‑site.
  • Location: New Delhi.
