About the Opportunity
Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry implements internship scheme for students pursuing Under Graduate/Post Graduate degree or Research Scholars from recognized universities in India or abroad. The scheme provides exposure to Government of India working culture and DPIIT schemes.
Eligibility
Applicants pursuing Graduation/Post Graduation/Research in Engineering, Management, Law, Economics, Finance, Computers, or Library Management are eligible. Candidates from other domains may be considered case-by-case. Students choose internship period of 1, 2, or 3 months during specified slots.
Application Period
- Applications open: 1st March to 30th April (for June-August internships)
- Applications open: 1st September to 31st October (for November-January internships)
- Deadline: 30.04.2026
Internship Period
Minimum one month and maximum three months during June-August or November-January slots. Students who do not complete requisite period will not receive certificate or stipend.
Number of Interns
Maximum 20 interns selected at any time.
Stipend
Rs. 10,000 per month.
Selection Process
Applications accepted through online mode only during specified periods. Database deleted after respective internship cycles end.
Nature of Work
Interns gain exposure to DPIIT’s working culture and schemes through practical involvement in departmental activities.
Certification
Experience Certificate awarded upon satisfactory completion of minimum internship period.
Application Procedure
Applications must be submitted online only through the designated portal during open application periods.
