About the Opportunity

The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), Government of India, is inviting applications from women students, scholars, social activists, and teachers for its Internship Programme 2026 (August–September batch). The programme offers practical exposure to the Ministry’s policy initiatives, welfare schemes, and legislative work related to women and child development, including opportunities to undertake pilot projects and micro-studies.

Location and Mode

Onsite at the Ministry headquarters, New Delhi. Hostel accommodation on a sharing basis is available for willing interns.

Duration

2 months (August–September 2026).

Eligibility

Open to women students, scholars, social activists, and teachers aged 21–40 years, enrolled in or associated with any university or academic/non-academic institution, from non-Tier-I cities and rural parts of India. Candidates once selected are not eligible to apply for any subsequent term.

Stipend & Benefits

₹20,000 per month, along with reimbursement of travel costs (Deluxe/AC Bus or 3-Tier AC Train) and optional hostel accommodation in New Delhi.

Number of Seats

20 interns per batch.

June 10, 2026. Applications must be submitted between the 1st and 10th of the month, two months prior to the internship start date.
