As a Manager in the Legal Team, you’ll join a strong group of over 12+ professionals including Company Secretaries and legal experts from reputed organizations. The legal team handles advisory, contracting, regulatory compliance, disputes, and supports new launches and business expansions.
About the Opportunity
Meesho is looking for a sharp, experienced disputes lawyer to join its legal team as Manager – Legal (Disputes). The ideal candidate will lead litigation strategy, dispute resolution, and pre-litigation risk assessment. You’ll work directly with external counsel, advise internal teams, and support business growth by ensuring legal clarity and protection. This role blends strategic thinking with execution, making it ideal for someone who thrives in high-stakes, fast-paced settings.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Legal Strategy: Develop and execute litigation strategies aligned with business goals
• Dispute Management: Handle litigation across civil, criminal, commercial, regulatory, arbitration, and consumer domains pan-India
• Investigations & Reporting: Lead internal investigations, draft notices and complaints, and coordinate with stakeholders to build case foundations
• Law Firm Coordination: Manage law firm engagements, brief external counsel, and optimize legal spend
• Internal Advisory: Advise leadership and internal teams on litigation risks and preemptive strategies
• Regulatory Matters: Handle regulatory notices, inquiries, and proceedings from government authorities
• Documentation & Drafting: Draft pleadings, legal responses, affidavits, and settlement agreements
• Risk Mitigation: Drive pre-litigation risk management through training, SOPs, and internal compliance measures
• Litigation MIS: Maintain dashboards and trackers to manage case status, budgets, and reports
Eligibility Criteria
• LL.B or LL.M from a reputed institution
• 5–7+ years of litigation experience, ideally a mix of in-house and law firm exposure
• Deep knowledge of civil, criminal, commercial, arbitration, and regulatory laws in India
• Experience handling matters in courts, tribunals, and before regulators
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
• Strong problem-solving ability and stakeholder management
• Comfortable working under pressure and managing multiple cases simultaneously
