The Delhi High Court has indicated it will issue injunction orders to safeguard Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s publicity and personality rights against unauthorized use. Justice Tejas Karia hinted that the court intends to prevent online platforms and individuals from morphing Bachchan’s images or exploiting her likeness without authorization.

Senior Advocate Sandeep Sethi, representing the actress, argued that Bachchan’s image, likeness, and persona are being misused to sell merchandise and for pornographic purposes through AI-generated morphed pictures. Sethi expressed concern over intimate, fabricated photos circulating online that misuse her client’s identity to satisfy others’ wrongful desires. He also pointed out a firm named “Aishwarya Nation Wealth” using Bachchan’s photograph and naming her chairperson without her knowledge, alleging fraudulent intent.

The Court plans to pass a common order against all defendants involved, with the possibility of separate injunctions as needed. This judicial response underlines increasing awareness of digital rights violations and the protection of celebrities in the digital era. The proceedings continue as the Court moves towards decisive action to uphold Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s legal personality rights.
