Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Sameer Wankhede has filed a defamation suit before the Delhi High Court aiming to restrain Netflix and the producers—Red Chillies Entertainment, owned by Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan—from streaming the Aryan Khan-directed series “The Ba***ds of Bollywood”. Wankhede, a former officer of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), claims the series falsely, maliciously, and negatively depicts him, thereby damaging his reputation.

In his suit, Wankhede asserts the show conveys misleading narratives about anti-drug enforcement agencies, potentially undermining public trust in law enforcement institutions. He contends the series is deliberately designed to malign his character at a time when legal proceedings involving him and Aryan Khan are still active before the Bombay High Court and the Special NDPS Court in Mumbai.

Wankhede is seeking damages of ₹2 crore and an injunction restraining further streaming or publication of the content. He has additionally requested that any damages awarded be donated to the Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital for cancer treatment, framing his pursuit of legal recourse as a matter of principle as much as personal vindication.Sameer Wankhede Files ₹2 Crore Defamation Suit in Delhi High Court Against Aryan Khan’s Netflix Series
IRS Officer Alleges Malicious Portrayal and Undermining of Law Enforcement in “The Ba***ds of Bollywood”

IRS officer and former NCB official Sameer Wankhede has moved the Delhi High Court with a defamation suit, seeking ₹2 crore in damages and an injunction against the Aryan Khan-directed Netflix show “The Ba***ds of Bollywood.” The suit is filed against the show’s producer Red Chillies Entertainment—owned by Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan—as well as Netflix and other associated parties.

Wankhede claims the series paints a false, malicious, and defamatory image of him, deliberately intending to malign his reputation. He argues that the portrayal misleads the public into doubting the credibility of anti-drug enforcement agencies, thereby eroding trust in law enforcement. Wankhede further points out that the Netflix series addresses issues and events related to his sub judice case against Aryan Khan, which is ongoing before the Bombay High Court and Mumbai’s Special NDPS Court.

Significantly, Wankhede requests that any damages awarded should be donated to the Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital to support cancer patient care, reinforcing that his suit seeks not financial gain, but to counter a harmful public narrative and uphold both his reputation and the institutional image of law enforcement.
