About the Position
Johnson & Johnson is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join their Law Department for Medical Devices India operations in Mumbai. This on-site role will report to the country lead counsel and play a strategic part in legal and compliance guidance, risk management, and business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide independent legal counsel and strategic mentorship for Medical Devices and Franchise leaders.
- Collaborate in developing legal strategies for Go To Market models and new product launches.
- Advise and ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry codes.
- Support business development initiatives such as M&A and licensing deals, including due diligence and drafting documentation.
- Manage litigation, dispute resolution, and investigations assigned by the country lead counsel.
- Oversee outside counsel operations, budgeting, and service requests.
- Advise on copy clearance, internet activities, and Johnson & Johnson policies, including employee training and policy review.
- Partner with legal teams across sectors, regions, and globally for alignment and best practices.
Eligibility Criteria
- LL.B. or LL.M. from a reputed Indian university or law school.
- 6-10 years post-qualification experience (PQE).
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Experience in multinational corporations preferred, especially within healthcare.
- Ability to advise senior business leaders and work collaboratively across all levels of a complex matrix organization.
