About National Legal Rights Consortium (NLRC-WICCI)
The National Legal Rights Consortium functions under the Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI), engaging women entrepreneurs, professionals, and law students to drive positive legal, social, and industry change across India. WICCI actively represents diverse sectors and promotes advocacy for women’s rights and leadership.
About the Membership Opportunity
The Maharashtra Legal Rights Consortium invites online applications for state-based membership for the 2025–26 term. The consortium provides an active platform to:
- Advocate for legal rights and reform at the state level
- Raise legal literacy and empower the public to exercise their rights
- Support community access to justice by coordinating pro bono legal services
- Collaborate with legislators and agencies to help shape just and equitable laws
- Monitor, report, and respond to violations of rights
Membership Mode
- Hybrid (combination of virtual and physical participation)
Eligibility
- Female law students either residing in Maharashtra or currently studying at a Maharashtra institution
- Enrollment at a university/college recognized by the Bar Council of India
- Prior experience with legal internships, organizations, or advocates
- Social media/public relations/graphic design skills preferred (Adobe, Canva)
Role of a Member
- Work with Consortium leadership to set and implement strategy
- Lead or participate in outreach, education, advocacy, and policy initiatives
- Represent the consortium in legal, governmental, and community forums
- Organize or contribute to public-facing and knowledge-sharing events
Tenure and Certification
- One-year term
- Certificates issued only upon completion of the full tenure
