About National Legal Rights Consortium (NLRC-WICCI)

The National Legal Rights Consortium (NLRC) is a key council under the Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI), a leading network representing women entrepreneurs, business professionals, and advocates for women’s advancement across sectors in India. NLRC’s mission is to protect, promote, and advance legal rights, particularly through policy advocacy, legal reform, awareness-building, and direct legal intervention.

About the Membership Opportunity

NLRC-WICCI invites applications from women legal professionals for membership in the 2024-25 National Council. The council’s activities include:

  • Advocating for legal rights and reform at state and national levels
  • Leading awareness and education initiatives to empower the public about legal rights
  • Providing pro bono legal assistance and building communities of support
  • Engaging with government, legislators, and agencies to influence laws and policies
  • Monitoring legal rights violations and reporting injustices
  • Shaping policy recommendations and public-private partnership proposals
  • Strategic and hands-on leadership in legal outreach and reform

Eligibility

  • Women legal professionals with 1–2 years (minimum) active practice or relevant legal experience
  • Prior internships with law firms, organizations, or individual advocates
  • Interest or skills in social media, public relations, or content creation
  • Demonstrated interest/expertise in constitutional law, human rights, legal drafting, or advocacy
  • Willingness to take on leadership roles and engage regularly in NLRC activities
  • Basic knowledge or keen interest in legislative, policy-making, and pro bono services
  • Commitment to team collaboration and legal outreach

Tenure

  • One-year term (certificates are provided only upon completion of full tenure)
