Dr. OV Nandimath of NLSIU appointed Vice-Chancellor of WBNUJS
Former NLSIU Registrar to lead Kolkata-based law university after Dr. NK Chakrabarti’s tenure
Dr. OV Nandimath, faculty member of the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru, has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS). He succeeds Dr. NK Chakrabarti, who has served in the post since 2019.
The WBNUJS Executive Council decided to appoint Dr. Nandimath following student protests calling for Dr. Chakrabarti’s resignation. Dr. Nandimath, a Chevening scholar, previously served as Registrar at NLSIU and held visiting faculty positions at Warwick University and Cardiff University. He has also been a Fulbright Fellow and Stegner Fellow at the University of Utah.
