About the internship

• The NITI Aayog Internship Scheme is open to undergraduate, postgraduate students, and research scholars enrolled in recognized universities/institutions in India and abroad.
• Interns will work closely with NITI’s verticals, divisions, and cells.
• Applications must be submitted online through the registration form.


Purpose

• To provide short-term exposure of selected candidates with different Verticals/Divisions/Units of NITI Aayog.


Objective

• To enable young academic talent to engage with NITI Aayog’s work for mutual benefit.
• Interns gain insight into government functioning and developmental policy issues.
• Contributions include generating policy inputs such as empirical analysis, briefing reports, and policy papers.


Mode of internship

• On-site (New Delhi)


Eligibility criteria

• Bonafide students of recognized universities/institutions in India or abroad.
• Undergraduate students: Completed/appeared in term-end exams of 2nd year (4th semester) and secured at least 85% in Class XII.
• Graduate students: Completed/appeared in term-end exams of 1st year (2nd semester) of postgraduate program or pursuing research/PhD with at least 70% marks in graduation.
• Students who have completed graduation/post-graduation and are awaiting admission to higher studies may also apply if they secured at least 70% marks overall.
• The period between declaration of final exam result and start of internship should not exceed six months.

• Minimum: 6 weeks
• Maximum: 6 months
• Interns not completing the requisite duration will not be issued a certificate.
