The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) is offering an internship scheme for students pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate, or research degrees from recognized institutions in India or abroad. The main objective is to provide interns with exposure to the working culture of the Government of India and DPIIT’s schemes.
Internship Duration and Stipend
- Duration: Interns can choose to intern for 1, 2, or 3 months as per their convenience.
- Stipend: ₹10,000 per month, processed after the completion of the internship period.
- Maximum interns at a time: 20.
Eligibility
- Students from various fields including Engineering, Management, Law, Economics, Finance, Computers, Library Management.
- Candidates from other domains may be considered based on requirements.
- Interns must submit a brief report or paper about their learning experience at the end.
Application Process
- Apply online at: https://dpiit.gov.in/internship/internship-scheme.php
- Fill mandatory details in the form and accept terms & conditions.
- Verify mobile number and email ID.
- Submit application before deadlines:
- March 1 to April 30 applications considered for June-August internships.
- September 1 to October 31 applications considered for November-January internships.
Selection Procedure
- Establishment Division compiles applications; divisions send their intern requirements.
- Relevant internship applications shared with divisions based on discipline.
- Divisions select candidates with approval of Wing Head and communicate to Establishment Section.
- Offers sent to selected interns after final approval.

- Proof of Identity, Address, Age (10th/12th mark sheet)
- Proof of Current Education
- Bank Details for stipend
- Other required documents as per instructions
