About the job
• Position: Associate – Legal (Band F1)
• Reporting into: Senior Lead Counsel – Litigation, Distribution and Insurance
• Business/Function: Legal and S&P
• Responsible for providing legal support to the Distribution business at Sony Pictures Networks India.
Key result areas
• Review, draft, and negotiate agreements for channel distribution (marketing, landing page, channel placement, etc.) with distribution platform operators.
• Review, draft, and negotiate service agreements for channel distribution.
• Provide end-to-end transactional support for the distribution business.
• Coordinate with cross-department heads, sales, business, and commercial teams, advising on legal actions.
• Review Regulations and Tariff Orders applicable to the industry to ensure compliance.
• Provide comments on TRAI Consultation Papers affecting the Broadcasting and Distribution Industry.
• Draft and send legal notices.
• Assist in filing recovery proceedings and other cases before TDSAT, Magistrate’s Court, High Court, and Supreme Court by reviewing petitions and coordinating with lawyers.
Eligibility
• Law Graduate (LL.M preferred).
• 4–6 years of post-qualification experience.
• Experience in a mid to large-sized corporate (preferably in Broadcasting & Distribution, Media, or Telecom).
• Ability to handle tasks independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong adherence to principles and values, persuasive, and effective in communication.
• Ability to multitask and work within timelines.

• Strong communication and analytical skills.
