About the Opportunity
Bata India, the nation’s largest footwear retailer and part of the global Bata Shoe Organization, is seeking applications for the post of Senior Executive – Legal at its Gurgaon office. This role is suited for motivated legal professionals with litigation and corporate advisory experience, particularly in property, consumer law, contracts, and related legal functions.
Eligibility
• LL.B. degree from a recognized and reputed institution
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a corporate in-house legal department or a law firm
• Strong understanding of court procedures and legal documentation
• Expertise in civil/criminal matters including:
• Recovery suits
• Property disputes
• NI Act & Consumer Laws
• IPR, Legal Metrology
• Labour laws (preferred)
• Strong drafting & legal research skills
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• High integrity, strong communication, and willingness to travel or relocate across India
Key Responsibilities
• Litigation & Dispute Management
• Coordinate litigation across India with external counsel and corporate legal team
• Appear on behalf of the company in courts when necessary
• Draft, review and monitor legal pleadings and reports
• Liaise with advocates, officials, law enforcement
• File and manage police complaints and FIRs
• Contract Management & Documentation
• Draft, vet and finalize commercial contracts, lease deeds, and JVAs
• Prepare documentation: cancellation deeds, indemnity bonds, attornment letters, etc.
• Review title documents for property transactions
• Support property acquisition through due diligence and legal compliance
