About the Job

Project 39A at NLUD, renowned for criminal justice reform, legal aid, and empirical research, seeks a Litigation Cum Research Associate and an Academic Fellow. These full-time contractual roles at the Dwarka campus strengthen research-driven policy, training, and institutional reform in criminal justice.

Eligibility

Litigation Cum Research – Associate

  • Graduate degree in Law.
  • Strong familiarity with criminal law and Indian criminal justice system.
  • Proficiency in English + at least one Indian language.
    Desirable: Litigation/legal research/policy experience, relevant publications.

Academic Fellow

  • LL.M. or relevant Master’s (minimum 55% marks).
  • Strong academic record, research/project coordination experience.
    Desirable: Fieldwork/data collection, criminal justice/legal aid familiarity.

Responsibilities

Litigation Cum Research – Associate: Legal/empirical research, fieldwork, data analysis/publication, litigation support/strategy, stakeholder engagement, database development, presentations.

Academic Fellow: Manage research/policy projects, coordinate stakeholders/agencies, organise events/publications, fieldwork coordination, administrative support.

Duration, Salary & Positions

  • Duration: 1 year initial (extendable based on performance/funding).
  • Salary: ₹50,000/month (consolidated, TDS applicable).
  • Positions: 2.
