About Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy
Vidhi is an independent think tank conducting legal research to improve laws and governance. It works with Government of India Ministries, State Governments, and public institutions on research, drafting, and law-making support while disseminating independent reform research.
About the Job
Research Fellows conduct legal/policy research, draft publications, and support evidence-based reforms. Fellows start with the Legal Design and Regulation team, focusing on regulatory reform and institutional design through government engagements, stakeholder coordination, and project execution.
Eligibility
Essential:
- Undergraduate/Postgraduate degree in Law and/or Public Policy
- 0-2 years experience in legal research/policy analysis (Master’s counts as 1 year)
- Excellent legal research, policy analysis, writing/drafting, communication, and presentation skills
- Sound judgment for sensitive stakeholder contexts
Desirable:
- Master’s in law, social sciences, or public policy
- Experience with government officials, civil society, industry stakeholders
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments
Responsibilities
- Conduct high-quality legal research, policy analysis, legislative drafting
- Prepare reports, concept notes, issue briefs, slide decks with actionable recommendations
- Coordinate meetings/consultations with government, academics, stakeholders
- Manage timelines across parallel workstreams; write articles/blogs
