About Ministry of Women and Child Development

The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), Government of India, is the apex body for the formulation and administration of laws, rules, and programmes relating to women and child development across the country.


About the Internship

MWCD is inviting applications from women students, scholars, social activists, and teachers under its Internship Programme. The programme aims to provide exposure to the policies, schemes, and functioning of the Ministry, while allowing interns to conduct pilot projects and micro-studies related to ongoing initiatives.

This opportunity is designed to empower interns to proactively engage with issues concerning women and children on various platforms.


Eligibility

• Women students, scholars, social activists, and teachers from non-Tier I cities and rural India
• Must be enrolled in/associated with a university, academic, or non-academic institution
• Age group: 21–40 years


Duration & Batches

• Internship duration: 2 months
• Offered in 4 terms per financial year:
– May–June
– August–September
– November–December
– February–March


Benefits

Stipend: Rs. 20,000 per month
Travel Reimbursement: AC 3-tier / Deluxe Bus (to & from Delhi)
Accommodation: Hostel facility on sharing basis (basic amenities included)


Application Procedure

• Applications must be submitted online via the Internship Programme Portal of MWCD
• Apply between the 1st and 10th of the second month prior to the internship batch (e.g., 1–10 June for August–September)
• Once selected, candidates are not eligible to reapply for subsequent terms
