The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) is the Government of India’s apex body responsible for formulating and administering rules, regulations, and laws related to women and child development across the country.
About the Internship
MWCD invites applications from women students, scholars, social activists, and teachers for its Internship Programme, designed to provide qualitative exposure to the Ministry’s mandate through pilot projects, micro-studies, and policy analysis on women and child welfare issues. The programme aims to empower participants to proactively advocate for women and children’s rights on various platforms.
Eligibility
- Women students/scholars/social activists/teachers from non-Tier I cities and rural parts of India.
- Must be enrolled in/associated with any university, academic, or non-academic institution.
- Age group: 21–40 years.
Stipend and Benefits
- Lump sum stipend of ₹20,000 per month.
- Reimbursement of travel costs (deluxe/AC bus or 3-tier AC train) for joining and return journey.
- Shared hostel accommodation provided in Delhi for the programme duration.
Duration and Batches
- Duration: 2 months per batch.
- Batches: May–June, August–September, November–December, February–March.
- Seats: Up to 20 interns per batch.
- Location: Delhi (on-site).
Application Procedure
- Submit applications online through the official MWCD Internship portal between the 1st and 10th of the month, two months prior to the desired batch (e.g., 1st–10th Dec for Feb–Mar batch).
