MWCD is an apex government body for formulating and administering laws and policies relating to women’s and children’s development in India.

About the Internship

MWCD invites applications exclusively from women (students, scholars, social activists, teachers) from non-Tier I cities and rural areas, enrolled in or associated with any university, or academic/non-academic institution.
Interns will work for two months on pilot projects, micro-studies, and policy research relating to current MWCD schemes, gaining practical exposure and contributing to future policy recommendations.

Eligibility

  • Women aged 21–40 from non-Tier I cities/rural areas
  • Enrolled/associated with a university, academic or non-academic institution
  • Students, working teachers, scholars or social activists
  • Candidates who have already completed a previous MWCD internship are not eligible for subsequent terms.

Stipend & Perks

  • Rs. 20,000 per month (lump sum)
  • Travel reimbursement (Delhi joining/return: AC bus/AC 3-tier train)
  • Hostel accommodation in Delhi (shared basis) during internship
  • No application fee

Timeline and Batches

  • Internship duration: 2 months per batch
  • Batches: May–June, Aug–Sep, Nov–Dec, Feb–Mar
  • 20 seats per batch​
  • Apply during 1st–10th of the month, two months before your intended batch (e.g., Nov 1–10 for Nov–Dec batch).

Location

  • Ministry headquarters, Delhi
  • Selected interns may be assigned to other projects/studies during tenure.
