About PRS Legislative Research

PRS Legislative Research, commonly known as PRS, is an Indian non-profit organisation founded in September 2005. It aims to make the Indian legislative process better informed, transparent, and participatory. Based in New Delhi, PRS provides Members of Parliament (MPs) with analysis on legislation and policy to help them prepare for parliamentary debates.

About the Internship

PRS offers rolling research internships throughout the year, primarily conducted in-office at their New Delhi location. Interns can apply to work in the research or outreach departments.

  • During parliamentary sessions, interns work on projects linked to issues under parliamentary discussion.
  • During non-session periods, interns work on projects aligned with their interests and are matched with analysts.
  • Interns assist analysts with research and complete an internship project relevant to legislation or policy.

Duration and Mode

  • Typically between 4 to 8 weeks
  • Physical, in-office internship at PRS office in New Delhi

Expectations from Interns

  • Strong interest in legislative processes and working of Parliament
  • Strong writing and analytical skills

Stipend

  • This is an unpaid internship; no accommodation or remuneration provided.
