About the Opportunity

The Young Professional Scheme aims to strengthen departmental representation at ITAT by engaging law and accountancy graduates with strong domain knowledge. Young Professionals assist departmental officers in preparing tribunal cases and conduct research on critical tax litigation areas for effective case management.

Job Description

Young Professionals work with CsIT (DR) or Sr. DR offices at Income Tax Appellate Tribunal. Key tasks include studying case paper books, analyzing assessee judgments, identifying favorable departmental precedents, preparing briefing notes and written submissions, plus research on specific points assigned by CIT (DR)/Sr. DR. Mentors provide orientation on expected deliverables.

Eligibility

  • Age: Not exceeding 35 years as on advertisement date
  • Graduate/Post Graduate degree in Law from recognized national/international institutions, or Chartered Accountant
  • Minimum 50% marks in 3-year LLB, 5-year integrated LLB, Post Graduation, or CA qualification

Preferred Qualifications

  • CAs with taxation articleship; law graduates/postgrads with taxation research/projects
  • ICT skills, good communication, and interpersonal abilities

Contract Details

  • Positions: 1
  • Duration: 1 year (extendable by another year based on performance)
  • Location: Chandigarh
  • Salary: ₹60,000 per month
